SUNY Health Science Center

Located on a 13-acre urban campus in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, SUNY Downstate Medical Center includes the College of Medicine, which is the largest medical school in the state; a School of Graduate Studies; a College of Nursing; a College of Health Related Professions, a major biomedical research center; and the 376-bed University Hospital of Brooklyn.

One of 64 campuses in the State University of New York education system, SUNY Downstate Medical Center is the focal point of a healthcare network that encompasses 20 hospitals and research institutions and more than 40 health-related facilities in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and beyond. As such, it enhances the care of nearly three million people.

The Downstate Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program is affiliated with Staten Island University Hospital; between the five cardiac catheterization laboratories located at these 2 sites, greater than six thousand cardiac procedures and in excess of twenty-five hundred coronary interventions are performed annually.
